Video: Supreme Court refuses to stay Election Commission order on Shiv Sena
The Supreme Court has refused to stay the Election Commission’s order on Shiv Sena election symbol case but has issued notice to both parties. The Uddhav Thackeray faction had challenged the EC order. The matter has been listed after two weeks.
In the hijab case, girl students have sought the Supreme Court’s permission to appear for pre-university examination wearing hijab. CJI DY Chandrachud said he will decide if the plea is to be given an early hearing.
In the Morbi bridge accident case, the compensation to the families of the dead and those injured has been increased. The Gujarat High Court ordered contractor Oreva to pay Rs 10 lakh interim compensation to families of the deceased and the injured will now get Rs 2 lakh.
The Delhi High Court refused to grant an interim order to Delhi Waqf Board in the case of 123 properties. The Centre had removed Waqf Board from managing the properties.
