Punjab and Haryana High Court disposes of PIL seeking immediate action on issue of stray cattle on roads
The Punjab and Haryana High Court disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeeking direction to the respondent – authorities to consider and decide the representations dated 17.07.2022 and 25.11.2022 whereby he has taken up the issue of stray cattle roaming in the streets of Phagwara City, and has requested the respondent – authorities to take immediate action in that regard.
The PIL has been filed by one Nitin Mittoo .
Avinit Avasthi , Assistant Advocate General, Punjab,, entering appearance on advance copy, submits that the authority concerned shall look into the matter and take a decision on the representations (ibid) in accordance with law.
Taking the aforesaid statements of counsel for the parties, and in terms thereof, the Division Bench of Chief Justice Ravi Shanker Jha and Justice Arun Palli disposed of the Petition.
