34 teams to battle it out in Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law 2023 on February 5
Come February 5, 34 teams from leading law colleges in India will battle it out in the next edition of Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law 2023, considered as one of the most prestigious events for law students in the country.
Former Chairman of National Commission for Minorities, Prof Tahir Mahmood, will grace the occasion as Guest of Honor, while former Judge of Supreme Court, Justice Madan B. Lokur, will be the Chief Guest.
Organised by Lex Consilium Foundation, in collaboration with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Tata Group, the event, to be held at Hotel Le Meridien in New Delhi will be presided over by Senior Advocate at Supreme Court, Raju Ramachandran.
According to a release issued by the organisers, the quiz prepared the law students to gain knowledge of the constitutional text and decide cases of the Apex Court in a competitive format.
It would not only test the students’ understanding of the Constitution as amended and its application, but also their knowledge about the verdicts delivered by the Constitutional Benches of the top court of the country, having five or more Judges, which were delivered before or on August 31, 2022.
It said the competition would be conducted in two rounds – a preliminary round by way of written test (individual performance) and the final round in the shape of an oral quiz (team efforts). The top six teams from the preliminary round would advance to the final round.
The competition was open to all students of three year and five year LLB courses in any law college recognised by the Bar Council of India. One law college from the country was permitted to send maximum three teams consisting of two students each, added the release.
