Prof (Dr) GS Bajpai appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of National Law University in Delhi

Prof (Dr) GS Bajpai, who earlier was the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, has taken charge as Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Delhi on Tuesday, February 28.

Professor Bajpai succeeds Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao, who had earlier held the post from September 2020.

Professor Bajpai comes with thirty years of experience as a researcher and administrator.

Prof Bajpai holds a doctorate in Victimology and a post-doctorate in Criminal Justice from Leicester University, UK where he was a Commonwealth Fellow at the Department of Criminology. His LL.M. specialisation was in Criminology & Criminal Justice.

In terms of working,he has previously served as the Registrar and Chairperson of the Centre for Criminology & Victimology at NLU Delhi.

He has also served as the Member Secretary on the Committee for Reforms in Criminal Laws appointed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

National Law University,Delhi has given a press release stating that under the guidance of Professor Bajpai,the University is certain to reach new academic heights and achieve excellence, under his leadership.
